Family Law Partner

Michael is the holder of a Master of Laws degree from the University of Queensland.

Michael was educated at Marist Brothers Ashgrove and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1980 after serving his articles in Brisbane.
 
Michael practises in Family and De facto law in the Family Court of Australia, the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia and the State Courts.

In addition to his legal practice, Michael is also a leading academic as a Lecturer in Law at the Law School of the University of Southern Queensland – with over 20 years' teaching experience.

Michael has been a member of the Management Committee of TASC  (The Advocacy and Support Centre) for several years and he sees this organisation as a vital service to those in need in our regional community.

As a member of  the Community Advisory Team of the Toowoomba Family Relationship Centre (FRC), Michael is able to contribute to the work of the FRC in making its services relevant to families in conflict within our community.  Michael also undertakes a supervisory role for the mediators at Centacare and the FRC.

Almost 20 years ago Michael established an advice service for the USQ Student Guild to help students at USQ through free organised weekly legal advice sessions. 

Away from the office, Michael keeps busy with his three boys all living in Brisbane.
